The charity event known as Will Aid will be taking place throughout the UK during November.
This event is one in which Will writing solicitors in North Wales and England agree to create basic Wills in return for charitable donations. How it works is that those professionals who commit to taking part volunteer to write Wills and then ask their clients to donate a sum of money to the cause, instead of paying the standard fee. Solicitors across the UK are being urged to sign up for it again in 2026.
All of the money that is raised from the campaign is given to the various partner charities. These include organisations supporting homeless people, ones that help vulnerable youngsters and charities that provide international aid. Will Aid is an annual event that is always held in November.
Its campaign director is Peter de Vena Franks. He was quoted by Today’s Wills and Probate as saying:
“Every year we’re inspired by the generosity of solicitors who give their time to support Will Aid. Their expertise helps thousands of people put an important legal document in place, while also raising funds that make a real difference through our partner charities.”
He pointed out that it has benefits for both legal firms and the public. The former have the chance to win more clients, while the latter can get a Will made for the cost of a donation.
