The National Will Register has made Free Will Registration Month available again this year, giving people a chance to register a Will without the standard charge.
This annual scheme has proven to be extremely popular. For the duration of the month, people can get a Will registered without having to pay the usual registration charge of £30. It is open to ordinary people, but also to professionals like Wills solicitors in North Wales who are acting on behalf of a client.
Since the scheme was first introduced, the numbers taking advantage of it have steadily risen. Last year saw a record number of people choosing to register a Will over the course of the month.
The National Will Register is run by OneAdvanced Legal. Its senior vice-president is Doug Hargrove and he told Today’s Wills and Probate there is more to estate planning than just writing a Will.
He then added:
“At OneAdvanced Legal, we see first-hand the importance of building certainty into every stage of the process. Free Will Registration Month is about addressing this gap at a national level, encouraging a shift from assumption to certainty.”
When registration is carried out using the National Will Register, the document is not actually stored on its system. What happens is that the Register keeps a record of where the document is stored or the solicitor responsible for it. This ensures data security.
Free Will Registration Month runs until the end of May. Anyone looking for solicitors in Conwy that specialise in Will writing and registration can contact Bennett Smith Solicitors right away.
