A survey has found the advice of estate agents is one of the primary influences on homebuyers when they are choosing a conveyancing solicitor.
Almost one third of them make their selection based on who their estate agent recommends. This is the headline finding of a survey by Lyons Bowie Solicitors, who spoke to a total of 1,208 people who had bought a home during the past two years. 32% of those surveyed said they had gone with the conveyancer their estate agent had put them on to.
Meanwhile, 25% of the participants said it was family or friends who had recommended a conveyancer to them. One surprising finding was that just 19% of buyers had searched on the internet.
The largest percentage of buyers – 40% – said they checked out multiple companies before choosing. However, 38% of them still cited a recommendation as a decisive factor, compared with 20% who said price. It is clear that the advice of a professional is highly influential when people are selecting conveyancing solicitors in North Wales.
Paul Lyons from Lyons Bowie told Introducer Today it showed the importance to conveyancers of developing bonds with local estate agents. He then added:
“Estate agents want to recommend firms they trust to deliver a reliable, efficient service that reflects positively on them and helps transactions progress smoothly.”
