Read postA new survey has shown that two out of every five people in the UK would be willing to pay for private resolution to family disputes.
Mills & Reeve commissioned this survey, and 1,000 people took part in it. A total of 38.9% of them said they would be happy to pay premium charges for such resolution, if it sped up the process. Another 21% of the participants stated they would be prepared to pay an additional £250 for this, which amounts to one fifth of them. Meanwhile, 15% told the survey that they would consider £500 to be an acceptable cost for successful private dispute resolution.
It is an option that some are already availing themselves of, with 42% stating they were using private dispute resolution services. However, only one out of every four participants was aware of private alternatives to the courts.
One of the many benefits of talking to separation solicitors in North Wales is that they will either provide private Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR) and Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) services or refer clients to someone who does.
Matthew Heyworth from Mills & Reeve told Today’s Family Lawyer:
“Our research shows that many are prepared to invest in solutions that help them avoid lengthy delays and uncertainty, with people looking for greater control and reassurance when navigating important decisions.”
Over half of the survey respondents said paying for such options should be permissible.
